The IAIE appoints a new Secretary General and holds new Board elections every four years. The most recent elections were held in the autumn of 2002. On this occasion, Barry van Driel was appointed Secretary General.

All members of the new Board have committed themselves to offering IAIE members a variety of opportunities to exchange ideas and keep up to date with recent developments. Several conferences and seminars are being planned for the period 2003-2006. See the activities section on this website for more information. The present Secretary General and Board members are:
Barry van Driel, Secretary General
Barry van Driel has been the final editor of Intercultural Education since 1993 and editor-in-chief since 2000. He holds a degree in the Psychology of Culture and Religion and is responsible for international teacher education at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.
Jagdish Gundara, President
Jagdish Gundara is the Head of the International Centre for Intercultural Studies and Professor of Education at the University of London Institute of Education. He also holds the UNESCO Chair for Intercultural Studies and Teacher Education.
